Pell Grants 2012 and FASFA Filing Deadlines
Are you looking for Pell grant income requirements for the current school year? And do you need them for the Spring 2012 school semester? If so, it is important to remember that you must complete a FASFA form online.
The school year to determine financial aid for students in college begins each year in September with the Fall semester. So, if you are looking for financial aid for the current school year, and need such aid for the Spring 2012 semester, then you’ll need to start the FASFA form online to determine your financial need based on the Fall 2011 semester which extends over into the Spring 2012 and Summer 2012 semesters.
To find out if you are eligible for grants, scholarships or work study programs, the financial aid office at your school will provide you with the results of your FASFA completion and, typically, there are no deadlines to filing. However, if you want to have the funds before the Spring 2012 semester starts, then be sure to get the FASFA completed right away as your school may have a limitation on when they can process financial aid. Even if you miss the filing deadlines, you can still pay for school upfront and then acquire a refund once your financial aid is processed. Remember, financial aid comes in many forms to be prepared for the outcome with your FASFA filing right away. For more info on grants, read prior posts here.
